Schedule - Our 2010 Season
Rehersal for MURDER
By D.D. Brooke
The playwright turns on the stage lights and prepares for the 1st reading of his new play. As the cast and crew assemble, an undercurrent of suspense is evident. Everyone connected with this show was involved with another play, and exactly one year ago on opening night in this theater, the leading lady (the playwright's fiancé) was murdered! As the read through begins, startling connections to the murder begin to unfold. Growing tension reaches the boiling point with surprising revelations and accusations, countered by others even more surprising. The dazzling and logical twists build to a climax and solution that are theatrically stunning.

In addition to thier other problems, Nellie Nice must care for her sister, Naomi, who has been struck blind by grief at the loss of her father. The search for their father leads them to the Tippler Athletic Emporium, a saloon, which is invaded by the Temperance Ladies during their quest. The Cemetary Club
By D.D. Brooke
Three widows meet once a month for tea before going to visit their husband's graves. Ida is sweet tempered and ready to begin a new life. Lucille is a feisty embodiment of the girl who just wants to have fun, and Doris is priggish and judgmental, particularly when Sam the butcher enters the scene. He meets the widows while visiting his wife's grave. Doris and Lucille squash the budding romance between Sam and Ida. However, they are guilt stricken when this nearly breaks Ida's heart.

Miracle on 34th Street, Christmas 2010
The History of FBP and the Christmas show.
FBP started at the Platte County Fair in 1988 with a simple old west Melodrama. Since 1988, we've been honored by the Main Street Parkville Association in 2001, become the recipient of Parkville's Community Service Award in 1997, 2000, and 2001, received the U.S. Arts Council Co-op Community Service Award in 1998, honored by Parkville's Main Street Association in 2001, and by the City of Platte City in 2004. In the last twenty-one years, FBP has traveled back to the Platte County Fair annually; St Joseph's Trails West; Carolyn's Country Cousins Pumpkin Patch; Parkville Days; Leavenworth's River Fest; Platte City's Zed Martin Days, 4th of July and Christmas Lightings; Smithville's Lake Festival; Partville's Christmas on the River and 4th of July; and back to our home base at Lake Waukomis.
FBP's summer tour blends Old West Melodrama, Vaudeville, and Audience Interaction to draw in and entertain audiences.
2004 saw the introduction of Dinner Theater and added a Spring and Fall show to the schedule. Our first production of "A Christmas Carol" was in 1990 in Platte City; the production had a cast of 17 and a total production staff of 22. "A Christmas Carol" performed at the first Christmas on the River in 1992 aboard the Missouri River Queen showboat. The current run of Christmas shows started in 1994 in the Tyler Chapel at Park University with "A Christmas Carol". In 2002 the Christmas show moved to Union Hall in Riverside, and this will be our 7th year in the Riverside Community. In the last sixteen years, 246 different actors have been involved playing over 730 roles; over 12,070 patrons have enjoyed our annual Christmas shows. 2006 saw the change to "It's A Wonderful Life" and in 2007 we completed the holiday rotation by adding "Miracle on 34th Street". Now, after returning to "A Christmas Carol" last year, we come back to FBP's live version of America's Christmas Film: "It's A Wonderful Life"
